Today I did a fun singing game with the students called Little Johnny Brown. Before playing the game, I introduced a short story/description about who Johnny Brown actually was. Here is a great resource that includes the story and the description of various images/references throughout the song that you can pull out for a discussion with your students.
This activity was successful because the students got to connect what they learned in the story to the singing game they played. After the game was over, we discussed some of the references which really got their minds thinking and connecting.
