Arts Bridge Scholar? Who am I?

My name is September Howard and I am currently a student at Brigham Young University studying Music Education K-12 Choral. As you could probably guess, I love to sing. Quite frankly, that's what most of my days as a student look like. Ever since I was a young girl, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. It wasn't until high school that I realized I was very passionate about music and decided to dedicate my time to helping others become accustom, familiar, and passionate about music. I chose to participate in this Arts Bridge program as a scholar to, most importantly, attend to the needs of my classroom teacher and her students by integrating music into the curriculum, but also to gain more experience teaching in a setting outside of what I am used to. I am looking forward to using this semester to get Mrs. Robison's students excited about music, reading, and writing.

Outside of being a student and a music educator, I am also a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I love being a wife and doing all of the fun responsibilities that come with that. I also enjoy spending time with my family very much. Although my family is far away, I often reflect on all the memories we share and look forward to returning as often as I can to create more of those memories. Being around friends and family makes me very happy. I also enjoy watching movies, baking, going on adventures, and night driving. My absolute favorite thing to do is to relax on the beach. I am grateful that I have so many hobbies and things in my life that keep me busy!
